Pistol-packing North Carolina man arrested after ruckus at Nike store on Newbury Street, police say

Boston Police report arresting a man they say got into a bit of a contretemps at the Nike store on Newbury Street while packing a gun loaded with 11 rounds yesterday afternoon.

Police say Reginald Bowman. 21, of Harrisburg, NC, walked into the store at 200 Newbury St. shortly before 3 p.m. with some pals.

Offices received a radio call for a group of males causing a disturbance at the Nike Store located at 200 Newbury Street. Officers were further advised that one of the males was in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, Officers observed Bowman, matching the description of the males provided to 911. Officers observed Bowman exiting the store, and as they approached him, they observed his front sweatshirt pocket to be weighted down. Officers conducted a pat-frisk and immediately felt an object consistent with the weight and shape of a firearm. Officers were able to take Bowman into custody without incident.

The firearm was determined to be a Walther P22 with one (1) round in the chamber and ten (10) rounds in the magazine.

Bowman was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

Police posted a photo showing the gun to be black with a silver top.

Innocent, etc.

I don't think Bond every carried a 22, his traditional weapon was the PPK (.380).

Also this guy sounds like an idiot, carrying illegally and not even holstered?!

Guns aren’t stupid, PEOPLE with guns are stupid.

Tell that to Alec Baldwin. Or the 23,000 people every year who use guns to end their own lives (far more than the 15,000 who use guns to kill others).

Guns are stupid and terrible and have no place in the 21st century.

It’s incredibly difficult to obtain a carry permit in Massachusetts. My colleague who is from
South Carolina waited almost a year for his.

Had monsieur Bowman and his confrères attempted a détente, they could have avoided this lamentable contretemps.

If you'll excuse the pedantry, ironically, in French détente means relaxing diplomatic tensions (as in English) but it's also the word for gun trigger. And then we learn that the name of the perp holding the loaded gun is Bowman!

- Gun

- Visits tourist area when traveling

- Goes to consumer goods store which sells wares that are advertisements for themselves while profiting from foreign labor

At least my stupidity at age 21 was just anger over not getting laid.

...if you'd refrained from using a gendered insult to make it.
