Unless you're a fan of pointless public Hitler worship, you might want to avoid the area around the Parkman Bandstand starting late Sunday morning, when 1/6 insurrectionists, other Trump toadies and anti-vaxxers will gather, possibly with a working bullhorn this time, to scream into the gaping void of a city that just doesn't care.
Counter-protesters will, of course, be there to drown the Nazis out.

If the city just doesn't care (as it should), where will the counter-protesters come from? Somerville?

I actually have things to do this weekend, but I understand that the weather may be nice. Worse things to do with a pretty weekend day than heckling idiots...

Counter-protestors give them (and any covering journalists) a narrative.
What they deserve is an empty field. No one to listen.

...is to be locked up in a prison cell. That's not free speech, that's Insurrection and Treason. Their leader was already arrested for Jan 6 and is likely not going to show up for its trial. They should have revoked all bail for those traitors and held them til the day of their trials.

Bunk. They already HAVE a narrative, and lack of opposition gives them free rein to express it without countering views. Neutrality favors the oppressor, every time.

then no, they don't have a narrative if no one shows up to fight.
These are not your father's nazis. They play a different game.

IllinoisBoston Nazis have unfettered speech. Though I'm sincerely hoping for crazy signs like the Westport Baptist counterprotesters (remember "God Hates Shrimp"?).I predict there will be more police than participants at the Bandstand. Like always.

The Russians Used To Seed Clouds

They would seed clouds away from Moscow so it would never rain on Moscow on May Day and Victory Over German Day. The rain would fall outside of town. Why ruin a good time?
Does anyone want to pitch in so we can seed over say, Worcester so an unholy torrent is released over the Common here that day? Perhaps a mini-blizzard?

‘…to scream into the gaping void of a city that just doesn’t care.” I don’t know what it is but I think this is the most beautiful journalism I’ve read in ages. Really. I’m serious, and I agree. Poetry to a cynic’s ear.

Apologies to Camus
“It was as if that great rush of anger had washed me clean, emptied me of hope, and, gazing up at the dark sky spangled with its signs and stars, for the first time, the first, I laid my heart open to the tender indifference of the Hub of the Universe.”

"I hate Illinois Nazis."
Especially the ones we find in Boston. If you're too young for the reference, that's your fault.

Adam:
Who holds the permit? Is it the same people as the previous gathering to which you linked?
Thank you.
It is who you think it is.

I get the impression that Adam intentionally avoided typing out the group’s name, and I will do the same, but the Facebook event page linked above spills the beans in the first paragraph.
And yes, it’s the lame white supremacist organization that harbors two noted insurrectionists and whose members routinely sue the city because their tender, fragile feelings were hurt when Marty Walsh accurately described speakers at their “free speech” rally as Nazis.

It's actually the remnants of that group, now that they're no longer very super or very happy, hooking up with another bunch of haters, who will no doubt object to being called Nazis and say it's not their fault actual Nazis just keep showing up at their sad little "rallies" (note that our local Nazis are proto-Brandoners - they don't wave swastika flags but instead use flags with "sonnenrads" on them, because, like the people who really want to shout what they think about Joe Biden, they don't actually have the guts to do so). Also, this is a common tactic for them - they change their names every so often.
What’s traffic like during these things?

I was planning to drop some clothes off at St. Francis House quite close by.
Bad idea? I can drop off until 3:00pm.
Think these racist kooks and their protesters will be cleared out?
Thanks for any info.

It *should* be over by then. Typically, they shout for 10 to 20 minutes, then leave.
So, what happened?

Boston Globe coverage

Scores of right-wing protesters clashed with hundreds of counter-demonstrators Sunday on Boston Common as some participants tore down barricades and fought with one another amid a heavy police presence that was intended to keep the two protests apart.
Though hundreds of uniformed officers and metal barricades blocked off large sections of the Common around the Parkman Bandstand, both sides managed to confront one another repeatedly and got into heated and at times violent encounters over the course of several hours. Police said they made two arrests.
