Earlier today I'd linked to a Patch article about moms (plural) in Dedham getting outraged about the way a local ice-cream shop was giving ice-cream cones to kids who'd gotten vaccinated against Covid-19. Turns out it was one anti-vaxxer woman. So you should still go to Ron's if you need an ice-cream cone, and if you like the idea of helping encourage kids to get shots, you should still donate to Cones Against Covid but not because Dedham is full of pro-Covid moms.

And yet they have to throw their adult tantrums over a PRIVATE business rewarding PRIVATE citizens for PRIVATELY choosing to vaccinate their kids.

These same idiots are braying about "I trust my immune system" and continuously blather about "natural immunity" blah blah blah.
They totally believe that their kids should get COVID. There was a case in Floooriduh last year where a family knowingly took their immune compromised daughter to party where they knew she would be exposed to COVID.
She died.
In 2020, children's hospitals had to put out statements about how fucking stupid "COVID parties" are: https://www.chop.edu/news/health-tip/covid-parties...
Honestly, great

Having the World's Stupidest People boycott you (oh no) and getting positive attention for yourself sounds like a great deal for this ice cream place.

For reminding me that I haven't been to Ron's in awhile. I think I hear some Grape-Nut custard ice cream calling my name.

It's hard to fault you on this, Adam, since astroturfed individuals like this always try to promote the idea that they're part of some major groundswell. They never got over Nixon's "Silent Majority" failing to materialize.

I know this is a waste of time, since you clearly don't know what the word "censorship" means, but would you take a minute to enlighten us on the distinction between "freedom" and "license"?

And, of course, the very first comment on the Patch article was from somebody complaining about Ron's supporting "liberals" or somesuch, but to say that the Real Moms of Dedham had turned into a seething den of Covid-snorting anti-science haters when there were like 80 posts there in favor of the ice-cream handout and one opposed, was not accurate.

By FlyingToaster

Which seems to have been about 75 moms on Facebook whining about every damn thing for media attention. AFAIK, every boycott they've launched has engendered more sales to make up for their outcry. (see Archie comics, Campbells Soup, and the Hallmark Channel).
Astroturf groups like these tend to dissolve when someone shines the Big Flashlight on them.
Thanks, Adam.

They like to think they're the majority and want to give that impression but they're not. Just like the fake voter fraud, they have to resort to lying to make it look like a thing. I was reading online commentary (yes, with a grain of salt) where someone working in a clinic got a call "confirming" that the doses they had expired and how to safely discard them. Luckily, they were skeptical and verified that the official word was NOT to discard and they weren't expired. Imagine feeling so strongly that you're right that you are willing to endanger the lives of you, your family, everyone you meet, and hundreds of others who have nothing to do with you.
