Oh, the troubles they've seen: Delays on Orange and Green

The MBTA reports delays of up to 15 minutes on the inbound B Line due to a trolley with "a mechanical problem" at BC, and delays of up to 15 minutes on the Orange Line between Oak Grove and Sullivan, due to a similarly disinclined-to-move train at Wellington.
Say, speaking of the Orange Line, seems the new doors are similar to the old ones: They, too, can half fail, leaving only half as much room for passengers to get in or out. The good news is that a), they're wider, so people who use wheelchairs should still be able to get in or out and b) they should still be under warranty, no?

No show shuttles while microspikes needed for downtown sidewalks
Last night was a crap shoot on whether you would first fall on icy sidewalks, or freeze waiting for shuttles that never appeared & had no logic to where they were to collect you to return commuters to Orange Line/Back Bay. Folks waiting, like us, finally gave up & walked the 30 minutes to the station. In the road. Because the sidewalks were skating rinks.
If Mayor Wu wants to get folks back downtown, she’s got to address the crapshoot that is mbta & it’s unreliable evening services. I really feel for any worker that has to rely on the mbta to get home in the evenings.

This is the same weekend that they're shuttling the Green Line (Govt. Center to North Station) and the Orange Line (all the way from Back Bay through to Sullivan), and the Red Line (Harvard to Alewife). And there's the separate shuttle for Lechmere, with a switch to/from the other shuttle. So if you drew the subway map for the weekend, it would have large holes in it in downtown and Cambridge. For us over in Somerville, it should basically take three hours to get anywhere by T.
Perhaps, one day, in the not too distant future, the T will think about the customer experience when they schedule track work and construction. One can dream.
(Also - the service on the rest of the line is terrible when they do shuttling. It looks at the moment like the wait between Orange Line trains is 17 minutes).
