Teen was hanging out in a West Broadway development hallway with a loaded gun, bothering an old lady, police say

Boston Police report arresting a 17-year-old they say shoved a senior citizen with a walker in a vain attempt to evade officers who'd heard her yell she was going to call police, around 8:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say the officers were on patrol in a building on Flaherty Way, between D Street and Joyce Hayes Way, when they "observed a group of juveniles in a hallway and heard a female voice yelling that she was going to call the cops:"

Officers entered the hallway and observed an elderly woman utilizing a walker at the end of the hallway. At that time, a 17-year-old juvenile male pushed past the elderly woman and ran out the door grabbing his waste area. The juvenile was eventually stopped by officers and a firearm fell to the ground; officers recovered a .380 Semi-Automatic Bernardelli Gardone firearm. The firearm was loaded with 6 rounds in the magazine and 1 round in the chamber.

The teen was charged with being delinquent for illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and illegal possession of a loaded firearm, police say.
