Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, a crying man called 911 to report that when he came home, he found his girlfriend cheating on him, so he shot her dead and was now standing there wanting to die.
Police who arrived at the address he gave on Margaretta Drive in the Georgetowne Homes complex in Hyde Park found nobody shot, no crying man, no gun, no blood, no nothing.
The story was the same basic one somebody used to get police to rush over to Mayor Wu's Roslindale home on Christmas - a distraught man shooting his significant other after discovering her cheating.
The call came the day after somebody called in a bogus report about somebody wandering the grounds of Madison Park High School and the O'Bryant School.

If we make these hoaxers pay for all costs associated with the bogus emergency call as well as a year or two in prison, we could stop this seemingly growing problem real quick.
It can be hard to do
