Teen was bopping around Dorchester with a gun loaded with 15 rounds, police say

Boston Police report officers who stopped a car at Kingsdale and Bernard streets in Dorchester because of its excessively tinted windows early this morning ended up arresting a 17-year-old passenger for the "Glock 29 with fifteen rounds in the magazine" he had in a fanny pack he was holding.

Police say officers pulled the car over around 1 a.m. after following it several blocks from Glenway and Erie streets. After noticing the car had an expired inspection sticker - which did not belong to the car - they ordered the occupants out.

The teen, too young to have his name released was charged as delinquent for illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and illegal possession of a large-capacity feeding device, police say, adding the driver was released.

Where Gus spent his money on decorating a depreciable asset, and also drove around with a fraudulent registration sticker?

Me neither.

I remember when there were no tinted windows or SUVs and you could scan through the other cars to look for pedestrians, cyclists and tail lights and you could make polite eye contact with drivers when stepping into a crosswalk, or changing lanes.

I’m of two minds: Don’t Tread on Me; but also: yer living in a civil society operating deadly machinery.

(Just an aside: Hey, CNN crawl writer, it’s not the Bayesian yacht, it’s the yacht Bayesian. Isn’t it?)

I wonder why it isn't flagged and drivers aren't forced to correct it to get their safety inspection sticker?

49 CFR Part 571.205 is the applicable law here:

(4) the use of nontransparent or sunscreen material or window application which has a total visible light reflectance of not more than thirty-five per cent or a visible light transmittance of not less than thirty-five per cent on the side windows immediately adjacent to the right and left of the operator's seat, the side windows immediately to the rear of the operator's seat and the front passenger seat or on the rear window if the vehicle is equipped with two outside mirrors, one on each side, adjusted so that the driver has a clear view of the highway behind the vehicle.

I heard on NPR that the issue is freighted.

None of the guns seized lately have a retail price under $500 USD. What happened to Saturday Night Specials?
