Councilors demand answers from the Postal Service over crappy mail delivery on Mission Hill

Three Boston city councilors yesterday called for a hearing to ask local postal officials why mail service has plummeted like a rock, in particular on Mission Hill in particular, but also across the city.
In their request for an emergency hearing, Councilors Sharon Durkan and Ben Weber, who share Mission Hill in their districts, and Henry Santana (at large), say the ad-hoc elimination of delivery service on Mission Hill, is "causing hardship and inconvenience to residents and businesses in the area," could screw up prescriptions and voting by mail and is a violation of the Postal Service's once sacred duty to connect Americans, as codified in federal law.
Their request does not specify if they will notify local postal officials of the hearing date once it has been by mail or by a more reliable method.

What a miserable response
Elected representatives, advocating for the concerns of their constituents, how terrible!
"demand" is a word that Adam used. He's not wrong to use it, but it's not like the Council is sending out letters saying "WE DEMAND YOU ANSWER US"

Has the Postal Service ever provided answers when challenged? Hopefully the notice of this hearing is not being mailed to them.
The USPS has been severely impeded …
… by bike and bus lanes. They refuse to cross them and demand federally enforced mail truck lanes with bespoke speed humps.
It’s all about prestige and who out ranks who for government agencies.

A previous post I attempted to make wasn't posted. 1) USPS processing Facility, huge complex next to South Stationis going through major changes. Mail is moving more slowly through the system. Management has made other changes that's creating more time sensitive work, with fewer mail processors, who operate large machines. This is causing drama, tension, etc. There's more negative things going on,but I'll leave it at that. The workplace environment is toxic. This facility is where metro Boston mail is processed then sent out to local post offices for deliver. I'm sure they're also struggling at local post office facilities. BTW: Mail carriers have a high turn over rate.

Could it be caused by the number of college students who move into the area every year and might want to mail-in vote? How's mail delivery in Allston?
