Man was driving through Roslindale with a gun loaded with 17 bullets and then he crashed, police say
Boston Police report arresting a Taunton man after finding a gun loaded with 17 rounds in his car before they had it towed away from a crash at Poplar and Dale streets in Roslindale early Friday morning.
Police say officers who responded to a report of a loud argument there around 4:45 a.m. found two newly crashed vehicles.
Officers observed one of the operators to be screaming and attempting to walk away. Officers were able to detain the suspect, and advised him that his vehicle needed to be towed.
As is customary, officers conducted an "inventory search" of his vehicle before it was hitched for removal, police say, adding they found a gun:
The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 19 with a Sear Switch which makes the firearm fully automatic. The firearm had an obliterated serial number and seventeen rounds in the magazine.
Richard Bereus, 21, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device and receiving a firearm with a defaced serial number, police say.
Nobody was injured in the crash, police add.
Innocent, etc.
