Man came a long way to rob a Boston bank, police say

Boston Police report arresting a Hyannis man after, they say, he robbed the TD Bank branch at 24 Winter St. in Downtown Crossing yesterday evening - and then stuck around the area.

Police say Kenneth M. Chase, 49, walked into the bank shortly before 6 p.m. and gave a teller a demand note:

The suspect motioned towards his right coat pocket and threatened to shoot the victim if she did not give him the money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money before he fled the scene.

Around 11 p.m., police say, Transit Police officers stopped a guy who matched Chase's description at Washington and School streets. BPD officers arrived and arrested Chase on a charge of armed robbery, police say.

Innocent, etc.
