Roslindale man arrested on gun charges in investigation into double shooting in Jackson Square that left one dead
Boston Police report arresting a man they say fired shots during an incident on Centre Street in front of the Mildred Hailey Apartments that left one man dead and another hospitalized on May 20.
Devonne McDonald-Jones, 23, is the third man arrested on gun charges in connection with Dashawn Davis's murder. To date, however, nobody has been charged with murder for Davis's death.
According to police, McDonald-Jones "was observed discharging a firearm" during what turned into a melee - in which two other men were arrested on charges of interfering with police, one allegedly by trying to trip an officer chasing after a possible suspect. Like that suspect, police say, McDonald-Jones ran from the scene.
McDonald-Jones was arrested around 9 a.m. on Saturday at 43 Granfield Ave. in Roslindale, on a warrant charging him with discharging a firearm within 500 fee of a dwelling, unlawful possession of a firearm, third and subsequent offense, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm, police say.
Innocent, etc.
