Boston Police continued their scrutiny of cars with excessively tinted windows early Sunday, leading to an arrest and the seizure of a loaded revolver in Roxbury.
Police say officers on patrol in the area of Warren and Carlisle streets pulled over a car that had "excessively dark tinted windows and defective equipment."
Once a records check showed driver Henry Barboza, 25, of Dorchester, didn't have a valid license, and that the car's registration had been revoked, they ordered him out of the car and called in a tow truck, police say. During an inventory search of the car before the tow truck arrived, police say, the officers "located a loaded .32 Cal Smith & Wesson Long OTGZ revolver, loaded with five rounds of ammunition." The gun had been reported stolen in New Hampshire in 2020.
Barboza was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and operating after revocation or suspension, police say.

.32 Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector, most likely Second Model. Not sure where their getting the "Z", but what they think is "OTG" is actually "CTG", meaning "cartridge." It's a turn of the 20th century design, old enough that they still spelled that out (vs. loose powder, cap & ball). That cartridge is old school enough that Teddy Roosevelt selected it for the NYPD back when he was commissioner. I bet it would be an absolute beauty with a little TLC.

But seriously, I've been an avid target shooter since I was a teenager. This just happens to be a topic about which I know a fair amount and one I find fascinating. I'm also a center-left voter with a deep concern that "the good guys" have unilaterally disarmed while "the bad guys" are building arsenals. Snark has a pretty spotty track record against fascism, sadly.
