Teens break T cop's nose in attack at Forest Hills, police say

Transit Police report arresting three teens - 14, 15 and 16 - they say were particularly vicious in attacking a cop during a melee at Forest Hills station that began when officers told roughly 50 teens to move along rather than continuing to loiter in the station lobby.

heir behavior was causing a public inconvenience and creating an unsafe environment within the station. At this time a TPD officer approached the group of youths and instructed them to utilize the transportation services available to them or they would have to vacate from the station. The group violently set upon the officer kicking and punching him about his body. Once the officer was on the ground several in the group continued to kick him and drag the officer. Based the level of violence exhibited by the assailants and the large number involved other TPD officers present requested back up. Additional TPD, BPD and MSP officers responded to the scene to restore order.

WCVB reports the three girls broke the cop's nose.

Police say they were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a police officer. Additional teens could face arrest as well, police say.

I'm glad they have now provided some context. I figured it was unlikely people sought out a cop who was just minding their own business.

Just said a cop was beaten up by some (originally two) teenagers, without saying why or that it was part of a larger incident.
