Boston Police report arresting a 17-year-old on gun charges Saturday night after officers stopped the driver of the car he was in at Washington and Rutland streets because his car's lights were off.
Police report officers on patrol spotted a car wheeling down Washington near West Dedham Street with no lights on around 10:15 p.m.
Officers made contact with the licensed driver and after further investigation recovered a loaded firearm from the male juvenile passenger. The firearm was determined to be a 9mm loaded with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in the magazine.

If they stop every driver
If they stop every driver with no headlights at night, we will solve the traffic problem.
I almost got hit
I almost got hit by a delivery driver who forgot to turn his headlights on pulling out from the same store I was crossing the street to pickup a large Italian Sub from.
How do you go from pulling
How do you go from pulling over a car driving with no lights on (which is a very minor civil not criminal infraction) to searching one the occupants (not the driver, but a passenger) and finding a gun?
Good Police work
