Boston Police report two officers had just finished up with a traffic stop on Bowdoin Street between Mt. Ida Road and Adams Street in Dorchester last night when they noticed a guy walking by who was holding his right arm close to his body and had "what appeared to be the outline of a firearm" in his coat pocket.
When officers tried to talk to him, shortly before 9 p.m., he began to run away, police say.
The officers were able to apprehend the suspect at which time they recovered a loaded 9mm Kel-Tec handgun.
Admilson Pereira, 23, of Jamaica Plain, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm, police say.
