State Police report a Quincy man heading south on Morrissey Boulevard suffered serious injuries when he hit the rear panel of a Chevy Spark whose driver was turning right into the Star Market parking lot about 1:20 p.m.

State Police say the man, 43, was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the car was unhurt.

Napoleon Blownaparte reports the Morrissey Boulevard drawbridge is stuck in the upright position once more and that traffic is now being diverted around it. No telling what happens if it stays that way for more than four hours.

State Police report troopers who stopped a driver in Kosciuszko Circle for doing 60 m.p.h. on Morrissey Boulevard on Saturday afternoon wound up arresting both the driver and his passenger after finding a loaded gun in the car. Read more.

Morrissey Boulevard drawbridge was stuck today

UPDATE, 7:29 p.m. Bridge is back down.

Jeannie Doherty reported at 6:42 p.m. that the venerable Beades Bridge, which lets motorists get on and off Morrissey Boulevard when it's not flooded, is stuck in the upright position. Read more.

State Police report they are looking for whoever cut up an American flag, threw a brick at the monument and caused extensive damage to the landscaping at the memorial, on Morrissey Boulevard by Dorchester Bay.

The Board of Appeals yesterday approved most of what developers asked for so they can turn the old Boston Globe plant on Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester into a new office, research and manufacturing space aimed at high-tech companies. Read more.

Nordblom Development this week submitted detailed plans for turning the old Globe plant at 135 Morrissey Blvd. in Dorchester into what it's calling the Beat - a facility for "creative office, technology, light manufacturing, warehouse, and life science tenants." Read more.

Flooded Morrissey Boulevard

Ndorb managed to avoid being washed out to sea on Dorchester's Morrissey Boulevard, reports it's now closed, at least heading south, due to the usual flooding. It'll probably be closed for awhile, what with the storm and the impending high tides from the superdupermoon.

Auld Lang Tide

Whoever's in charge of the electronic signboards on Morrissey Boulevard threw in an extra message in the alerts about possible tidal flooding on the road near UMass over the next few days: "Auld Lang Tide."

Ed. note: Yes, a bad photo, but it's amazing how hard it is to take a good photo when you've had to sort of trot down from the Malibu Beach parking lot and you clearly were not prepared for sub-zero windchills.
