The Dorchester Reporter reports that Gov. Healey has picked Stephanie Everett, currently head of the Boston Office of Police Accountability and Transparency, to replace Felix Arroyo as Suffolk County register of probate and family court, at least through the end of Arroyo's term in 2024. The nomination requires the approval of the Governor's Council.

in fairness
couldn't they have just fired her from OPAT rather than passing her along? I know that would mean admitting that she should not have been hired in the first place, but OPAT has been sharply been criticized for failing to meet and not actually doing anything
Flaherty should run
unless he has something better lined up.
Why elected???
I’m gobsmacked every time I contemplate that this purely administrative position, with, AFAIK, no policy-making role at all, is an elected one.
