Because there are not enough coyotes in the city to eat them. Wildlife gentrification. No natural predators = proliferation of varmint. ie: skunks, possums, squirrels, turkeys etc.

My friend on Fort Hill has three of them in his yard this morning (Linwood st). They either get around, or we have a bit on an influx of birds....

I don't know how big a turkey's territory is, but I do know there were six of them following me down Shattuck St. two weeks ago. If they don't get around that much, we're being overrun.

. . . fly for about a mile at a time but usually they only fly a few hundred yards at a time- low and fast. You won't see these guys soaring the clouds. They stick low over the ground when flying. They also run fast when they need to- but there doesn't seem to be much need for them to do so since there are no predators around here.
