When life gives you snow, make a snowfort. After Snowmygod 2018, Donrick Pond built a publicly accessible snowfort on South Huntington Avenue, at Bynner, in Jamaica Pond.

He outfitted it with a chair. A couple nights ago, Mickey PG put on a live show there. Of course, the forecast for tomorrow calls for rain (and possible floods), so the concert space could be at an end.

UPDATE: Jamaica Plain News reports on the exact cause. A giant block of granite was involved.

Late last night, a water main blew its gasket at Centre Street and South Huntington Avenue, flooding the intersection and knocking out water service to much of Jamaica Plain - leaving many residents this morning no way to take showers or make coffee. Read more.

The MSPCA says it's closed its South Huntington Avenue dog park again, this time to protect a mother rabbit and some new baby buns currently nesting there:

We anticipate re-opening the park in two to three weeks after the babies have been weaned and are able to move on. We ask for patience as we prioritize the safety of #wildlife who share this space with the community. We can all live skillfully (and enjoyably!) alongside wild life such as these rabbits.

A Cambridge company this week filed formal plans for a 167-unit apartment complex at the old Goddard House at 201 South Huntington Ave.

Eden Properties LLC says it will convert the one-time Home for Aged Women into 110 apartments and add two more modern buildings for 57 more apartments.

The proposal calls for spaces for 170 bicycles but just 83 cars. Read more.

The BRA board this week approved a plan by the developers of a proposed 13-story residential building at 105A South Huntington Ave. to build 36 units of affordable housing someplace else in the area, rather than including them in the project, which will rise from 5 floors on the Jamaicaway side to 13 on South Huntington. DR captured the demolition action at the old Home for Little Wanderers on South Huntington Avenue in Jamaica Plain today. It's being replaced with luxury housing.

Shortly after noon, a car went flying into the building at 71 S. Huntington Ave., in the latest of an unending series of crashes along the street south of the intersection with Huntington Avenue.

The building inspector was summoned to check the building for structural damage; the E Line stopped running past Brigham Circle.

As of 2:45, there were three 39 buses dead on South Huntington Avenue by the VA Hospital - two due to a bit of crashiness. Police asked the dispatcher on that route to stop sending buses down South Huntington.

And with nowhere for them to turn around, E Line trolleys that normally would head that way are instead terminating at Brigham Circle.
