Unraveled fiber in Greenway art exhibit

Chris Templeman's Make and Take is a 3D printer that aims to spit out 2,000 plastic replicas - which the public can take - of a Chinese rooster at the MFA.

The printer uses spools of plastic filament to assemble the roosters. As roving UHub photographer Christina Michaud discovered this afternoon, though, one of the spools completely unraveled.

The state has made similar threats in the past about the funding it provides for the Rose Kennedy Greenway, but this year, it may really mean it, the Globe reports.

Mural being painted on Boston's Rose Kennedy Greenway

Artist Mehdi Ghadyanloo was hard at work in and above Dewey Square today, turning South Station side of the O'Neill Tunnel ventilation shaft into the Greenway's latest mural, to be called Spaces Of Hope. Read more.

Boston Police report a woman was sexually attacked as she walked on the Greenway near State Street, towards the carousel, around 4:10 a.m.

The suspect was either white or Hispanic, in his 40s or 50s, about 5'5" with a scruffy face and thin. He wore a dark Bruins jersey and a baseball hat.

Kids playing in spray fountains on the Greenway

Stevil probably would have joined these kids in the splash fountains on the Rose Kennedy Greenway the other day, except it would have ruined his camera.

Silly Walks on the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston

Looks like the British Consulate is helping Bostonians explore one of the unique facets of Her Majesty's Government on the Greenway near Rowes Wharf today, as Steve Holt discovered.

Animal heads on the Rose Kennedy Greenway

Adam Castiglioni watched the installation of a snarling dog head and other animal heads on the Rose Kennedy Greenway this morning; part of a work by Ai Weiwei that represents the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac (H/t Allstonian for that info).

Billboard that denies the Armenian holocaust in the North End

UPDATE: Billboard ad to be taken down.

No, not the World War II holocaust, but the World War I holocaust in which Turks slaughtered Armenians. Elizabeth Weinbloom forwarded a photo of a new billboard over Cross and Salem streets, just up Cross from the Greenway's Armenian Heritage Park, site of the annual commemoration of the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians in the old Ottoman Empire.
