The Boston Licensing Board today gave La Union Market, 105 Chelsea St. in East Boston, to expand its alcohol selection from beers and wine to harder drinks, such as aguardiente from Colombia and flor de fuego from El Salvador. Read more.

The Globe reports that after raising $30 million and hiring a design team to build a third Piers Park on the site of an old Massport pier in East Boston, one that would more fully connect people to the water, the Trustees of Reservations canceled the plans because of concerns over possible climate-related flooding in the future. Boston Police report one of two men arrested on charges they tried to break into an apartment at 212 Waldemar Ave. in Orient Heights yesterday was also charged for his alleged role in holding up the owner of a Meridian Street check-cashing store as he arrived from his bank with $240,000 in cash on June 7. Car on fire inside the Ted Williams Tunnel

Around 9:30 a.m., a car erupted into flames inside the eastbound Ted Williams Tunnel in South Boston, less than a day after a two-alarm, three-car conflagration in the tunnel leading from the northbound Tip O'Neill Tunnel to the Ted Williams. Read more.

The MBTA has gone full bustitution between Maverick and Suffolk Downs because of a wire problem at Airport, the nature of which they don't specify, but that's where the trains put up their connectors for those wires.

A developer has filed plans with the BPDA for a five-story, 24-unit condo building on what is now a vacant lot at 944 Saratoga St., next to Noyes Playground and to another condo building that went up a few years ago. Read more.

TransitMatters reports that while, yes, Blue Line trains now trundle along in less without slow zones, the peak-times trip between Wonderland and Bowdoin still takes longer on average than in February, 2023, before the T announced zillions of slow zones everywhere.

TransitMatters says that's because while the tracks are now in good shape, the Blue Line is still suffering "due to a switch issue, a signal issue, or a more significant ops issue altogether."

A London resident was sent to the Suffolk County jail yesterday after she couldn't make the $1,500 bail set at her arraignment for trafficking between 50 and 100 pounds of marijuana, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.
