WCVB reports a man who robbed a Revere bank today hopped on an MBTA bus afterwards - and wound up getting arrested not long after.

The MBTA reports a "door problem" on one train inbound from Forest Hills was causing ten-minute Orange Line delays. Or as Massmikmouse put it at 8:07 a.m.:

Past half hour on an Orange Line train with door isssues. Now at Ruggles with the first car being emptied. Maybe, someday, I’ll get to Back Bay. What a morning.

Transit Police report a man, about 21, was hit on the tracks by a train at the Brighton Street crossing and was killed, around 6:20 a.m.

New Wollaston Train Station

This woman, who loves, loves, loves the new Wollaston station, what with its gleaming and clean maps and signs and floors and stuff, would probably die of happiness on the spot if a new Orange Line train came through, so we feel bad about mentioning that JFK/UMass, Andrew and Broadway are as much "real Boston" as all the stops with more than two colors on the maps.

The MBTA tells Adam Castiglioni why Red Line trains were particularly slow over the Longfellow this morning:

Our Track Department performed maintenance work involving inspecting rail and tamping ballast at the northbound end the Longfellow Bridge. After this type of work a speed restriction is usually put into place. It is expected to be lifted after service tonight.

Everett man arrest

Transit Police report arresting an Everett man on a charge of open and gross lewdness on the Malden Center commuter-rail platform after, they say, people waiting on the neighboring Orange Line platform turned to see where some grunting sounds were coming from around 7:25 p.m. yesterday. Read more.

As Orange Line riders vie for the chance to ride that One New Train, Red Line riders get to shake their fists at the tracks in frustration, what with delays now up to 15 minutes caused by what the T says is "a train with its brakes holding" at Alewife.

Woman in orange gets on the Orange Line at Forest Hills

Forest Hills rider wore appropriate color for her ride into town from Forest Hills.

Shortly after 11 a.m., the first of the new Orange Line trains pulled out of Wellington, heading south. Around 11:40, it pulled into Forest Hills, disgorging its first load of railfans, regular T riders, T workers and a lots of reporters. Read more.

Old bus transfer dispenser at Back Bay station

Back in the day, when T riders without a monthly pass had to keep some tokens jangling in their pockets or purses, you usually had to pay extra to transfer from the subway to a bus. One of the exceptions was for riders of the 39 bus, who could get a transfer ticket at Back Bay. Read more.

UPDATE: Wednesday, mid-day-ish.

WCVB reports. Fans of humid, wood-paneled rec rooms on wheels don't have to worry just yet, though - most of the trains that will continue to lumber between Oak Grove and Forest Hills will still be those grime and rust-coated 1987 cars you've come to love.

WCVB reports the MBTA is planning some major amounts of weekend shutdowns this fall on the Green, Orange and Red Lines to get in some of that desperately needed repair work.

Red Line riders dumped at Park Street

Tim Lawrence was among the hordes ordered off an Alewife train at Park around 6:30 p.m., around the time the MBTA was announcing delays in the other direction due to a wounded train leaving Alewife.

WBZ reports the driver of the trolley that derailed near Riverside this morning didn't have proper signal authorization to proceed; had been hired just this past March.
