The year in Storrowing: 2021

A well executed Storrowing at the Kenmore exit

And that's how you do it. Photo by Matthew Christensen.

2021 was a peak year for storrowing. Drivers were back on the roads and once more ignoring the "CARS ONLY" signs bouncing off the cabs of their trucks. It was a great year to capture the screeeeeeech of metal being peeled back and, for the lucky few, like Matthew Christensen, to witness the truly sublime: A truck peeled back and tilted precariously on its side after its driver tried the Kenmore exits.

of a truck getting peeled by a makeshift "bridge": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7klO0p092Y

...for people interested in the physics of such things.

I'd love to rig up something to auto-capture such a video on Storrow, but it would be expensive and tricky. Maybe ultrasound to detect an overheight-truck approaching and turn on the high-speed camera, then a noise burst sensor + a timer to end the capture period? But it would have to sit out in all weather and be at risk of theft.

My vote goes to 6/2/2021 for the 'Storrowing of the Year, 2021'

It's a perfect peel with just enough cargo to make you go "You needed a big ass truck for that?"
