A Framingham woman was nabbed after she allegedly stole two women's purses from the pricey seats at yesterday's Holiday Pops concert at Symphony Hall, Boston Police report.
Police say Chelsea Ingalls, 26, had a balcony ticket, but made her way down to the floor level:
Officers spoke to one of the victims who stated that she was sitting in her seat when a thin white female (wearing a black top and some type of black head band or head scarf) rubbed up against her seat. The victim goes on to say when she looked down on the ground, her pocketbook was gone. Officers spoke to a 2nd victim who also reported her pocketbook stolen. A search of the hall's lobby area and restrooms enabled officers to locate both pocketbooks. In short time, officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description of the suspect. When the suspect saw the approaching officers, she turned, started walking in a hurried manner and quickly sat down on a lobby bench in an effort to avoid or evade the officers. Upon getting a closer look at the suspect who was now sitting on a lobby bench, officers noted that the suspect appeared to be visibly nervous and shaking.
Police say they found personal papers belonging to the two victims in Ingalls' own purse. She was then charged with two counts of larceny.
Ingalls is not unknown to area police. She was arrested in 2009 on a similar charge involving an incident at a Shaw's in Newton. She was also arrested in 2010 on a variety of warrants.
Innocent, etc.
