Carson Beach swimmer pulled out of water, pronounced dead

State Police report a Brockton man that a lifeguard pulled out of the water at Carson Beach this afternoon was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

State Police say William Morant, 52, was unresponsive when the lifeguard got him out of the water around 2:40 p.m. Arriving troopers performed CPR on him as well before he was transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center.

State Police say the state medical examiner will determine a cause of death.
