Citizen complaint of the day: Who cooks a turkey and then just tosses it?

A peeved citizen files a complaint about overflowing trash cans in Chester Park on Mass. Ave., with an addendum about one particular can:

An entire roasted turkey (!!) has been places next to it, along with a million plastic forks. Help?

I think it makes a great art installation. Let the raccoons party it up on Festivus!!!

Sounds to me like someone left out a meal for those without homes this winter...

Not sure how destitute I'd need to be before I'd think it was a good idea to eat poultry that's been sitting outside next to a trash can and picked over by rats.

And if it looked like the rats hadn't touched it? That's even worse.

How does someone see that, report it with their smartphone, and not snap a pic?

Some of us still do things on our computers.

In this case, the complaint was submitted via an iPhone app. You can tell how a 311 complaint is submitted by clicking on the "Notes" tab at the bottom.

... on my iPhone without pics for various reasons. Sometimes because the pic I took turned out to be my shoe and I’ve already left the area or because taking a photo of something someone may get confrontational about, Ubers parked in bike lanes, for example.
There are a multitude of reasons why a photo is not always possible or advisable. I’d think a reporter would be aware of that.

So serious. Just saying it sounds like a heck of a photo op, I would have liked to see the pic. And the world still turns...

It was the replies afterwards. Relax.

It’s probably still in the trash can so feel free...

I filed this complaint. I didn’t take a photo specifically to avoid ending up on uhub! Oh well...

...the ‘help’ was an invitation to join the citizen in eating the turkey. Can’t do it alone.

...when maybe all they needed was a plastic knife...

This is the blowback from the Dukakis turkey carcass collection shutdown.

No croquettes!

And rolling out the red carpet for rats and other animals.

However, this sounds like something my mom would do. If a big fight or argument broke out amongst relatives (usually does) I could totally see her saying "F*%# this Turkey! F%#& Thanksgiving. You bunch of ungrateful (a string of expletives)" then tossing it out. Totally up my mom's alley.
