Boston Police report arresting a 17-year-old they say had a gun loaded with 14 bullets outside the McDonald's at 301 Warren St. in Roxbury yesterday afternoon - but add that his pal, who ditched his own gun loaded with 7 rounds, managed to flee.
Police say officers who were patrolling the area around the McDonald's, aware of "ongoing incidents involving juveniles" there noticed a couple of guys standing outside, shortly after 2:40 p.m.
One was dressed in all black with a hood, while the other wore a brown coat over a red hooded sweatshirt. Both males appeared hypervigilant upon noticing the Officers.
As Officers entered the McDonald’s parking lot, they observed the male in black peering around the corner of the building, closely monitoring their movements. He then began walking briskly away from the restaurant, while the second male in the brown coat was no longer visible.
Officers approached the male in black and identified him as a 17-year-old from Boston. During the investigation, Officers discovered a silver Phoenix Arms .22LR firearm with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine, lying between two vehicles along the path where the second male had fled.
A subsequent pat-frisk of the 17-year-old revealed a Glock 19 firearm in his left breast coat pocket, loaded with one 9mm round in the chamber and 13 rounds in the magazine. A records check confirmed the Glock 19 had been reported stolen from Burlington, Vermont. Both firearms were secured by YVSF Detectives.
Police say the teen, too young to have his name publicly released, was charged as delinquent for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity firearm, carrying a loaded weapon and unlawful possession of ammunition.
