Joslin cancels all patient appointments today after administrative worker tests positive for coronavirus

The Joslin Diabetes Center reports that as a precaution, it cancelled all patient appointments today after learning an administrative worker - who had no patient contact - tested positive for Covid-19.

While this employee had no direct patient contact, we feel it is the right thing to do to disclose this confirmed case. The health and well-being of our patients, families and colleagues are our highest priority. Further information about the reopening of the clinic will be forthcoming.

The Longwood Medical Area facility says it will do extra sanitization of patient areas - and is accelerating a program to switch as many patients as it can from personal visits to "telehealth" consultations.

The center adds that all of the staffers who had contact with the employee have been told to self-quarantine at home for 14 days.
