Man charged with August murder on Hazleton Street in Mattapan

Boston Police report arresting Jason E. Woods, 27, of Mattapan on charges he fatally shot Lovenson Pierre of Quincy on Hazelton Street in Mattapan on Aug. 6.

He was formally charged with murder and several gun violations, police say.

Police report Woods was already at the Nashua Street jail awaiting trial in another matter.

BPD records show he was arrested on Jan. 3 on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on Blue Hill Avenue at Evelyn Street, a couple blocks from where Pierre was gunned down and just up the street from his home on Wellington Hill Street.
