No mask, no apartment showings, Trumpie in search of a place to live on Beacon Hill is told

Local broker John Ford reports on an incident yesterday:

I had a client who I scheduled showing to view Beacon Hill apartments for rent. When she arrived at my Beacon Hill office I asked her politely that in order to view these apartments she needed to wear a mask.

Normally, almost 99% if the time, Beacon Hill apartment renters will comply. On this particular day, the potential renter told me; “If Pres. Trump doesn’t wear a mask why should I?”

Needless to say, we parted ways in disagreement, mostly because I didn’t want to put anyone at risk in the Beacon Hill neighborhood with a client who refuses to wear a mask because of Pres. Trump doesn’t wear one.

"Oh yeah, if Donald Trump jumped off the Hancock building, would you do that too?"

Actually, I imagine his cultists would...

Did she have botox recently and does she own a blue, white, or red tank dress and an abundant supply of spanx and hair bleach?

SHE DOES NOW!

She shouldn't even have stepped foot in the office without a mask.

This is news worthy?

Yes.

Heck, you even took the time to write a comment, too.

Starting to see these pop up in windows.

More of this.

Seems to be a gentle, but firm approach, often with pleasant graphics.

But No Mask, No Service

goes along with the "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service" sign

"No Mask, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service"

And...well it should, too.

There's too damned much arrogance, selfishness and entitlement among people here in the United States as a whole. That's why the Covid-19 pandemic is so goddamned out of control here in the United States.

It feels like that has been in place for a long time now @cybah.

Ask Herman Cain about not wearing a mask and Trump. Oops. Too late.

Arrogant, deeply flawed leader discourages safe behavior because he thinks it reflects badly on him, his supporters follow along while the opposition wear masks as a statement of defiance. Said leader's hubris summons the deadly karma snake that bites him on the ass, his supporters die off and those that survive blame him for their misery, his world crumbles and he's left alone, wondering how it all went so wrong when he was SOOO deserving of a spot on Mt. Rushmore. Whom the gods would destroy, and before they make mad, they should humiliate and mock. It won't change anything but will make me smile a little.

...his supporters follow along while the opposition wear masks as a statement of defiance.

It's his supporters who are making statements of defiance. Because they are induhvidualists who aren't going to accept what some egghead scientists say. Me, I wear a mask because it's safer for me and for everybody else. It's Trump and his idiot lackeys who made mask-wearing or not into a statement.

Donald Trump's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, imho, was criminally irresponsible, and too many people, including young college students are following in his footsteps, refusing to wear masks and to social distance, and are deliberately flouting these rules, including the rule against having large gatherings of people. It's disgusting!

And you ID her as a Trumpie because? If she had said, "If Speaker Pelosi doesn’t wear a mask why should I?”, she would have been a . . .

up

What if she had said she just watched the latest Godzilla movie (the one where Boston is destroyed) and Godzilla wasn't wearing a mask and so she won't wear one either.

What? That's a stupid question? And not just because we know that Covid-19 could only kill Martians, and that's another movie entirely?

Please show me where anybody has cited Nancy Pelosi's face as a reason for not wearing a mask, and then we can talk.

i would not be surprised if the tuesday hair salon appointment is used by some folks as a reasoning for them not to wear masks now

John Ford's politics aren't what this is about? Considering you don't even know the person, what's that about?

...with a 99% chance of being correct. I'd bet the farm on it.

doesn't match your question.

"you ID her as a Trumpie because?"

Well, because she said “If Pres. Trump doesn’t wear a mask why should I?” Period.

But, I'll bite. Pelosi doesn't have frightening, cult-like followers who have proven to care more about her than the actual country. Hell, I know a lot of Democrats (and former Dems, like yours truly) who can't stand her, either. That problem will hopefully sort itself out at the polls soon enough, but a politician not practicing what they preach is still the lesser of two very different evils.

Of all the rules surrounding the pandemic that she could have broken — having a dinner party, say, forgetting to put her mask on when she went to Safeway — she picked the one that would outrage everyone. Salon owners in California have been railing against laws that have closed and crippled their businesses for months. -- Carla Hall, L.A. Times September 2, 2020

The realtor's (unverified?) story would be too incredible to be believed on a good day, never mind on a day when even the far-left LA Times criticized Speaker Pelosi's (D-CA) mask and lockdown hypocrisy. The timing and tone is almost childlike, "Mommy, mommy that Trump supporter did it too!" The superfluous, 104 year old analogy about British troops with mental illness seems misplaced. Don't forget, hoaxter Jussie Smollet wasn't the first to falsely accuse Trump supporters of wrongdoing. We know some still haven't accepted Trump's 2016 electoral college landslide victory.

downtown Boston to recognize that Trump's failure to model the most simple, basic, effective pandemic-fighting behavior, and worse, turn it into a symbol of loud, proud, dumbfuck ignorance, is everywhere. Welcome to Trumplandia, where putting your fellow citizens' lives at risk counts as owning the libs.

I don't want your failed-eighth-grade-science idiocy to get your grandma killed, but if it happens, it will be hard to shed a tear for you. The problem is that you're going to get my grandma killed, too, to which I can only say, fuck you, you mouth-breathing murderer.
