Non-profit proposes affordable apartments, condos on Warren Street in Roxbury
The Madison Park Development Corp. says it will soon file detailed plans for a six-story, 54-unit apartment building and a 9-unit condo building on a 3/4-acre lot at 639 Warren St. at Crawford Street in Roxbury's Grove Hall.
All of the units will be rented or sold as either "affordable" or "workforce" units - to people making between 30% and 120% of the Boston-area median income, according to a letter of intent filed yesterday with the Boston Planning Department.
The proposal will call for 22 parking spaces and 2,000-square feet of ground-floor commercial space.
Madison Park currently rents some 1,300 apartments in Roxbury and the South End and has sold 130 condos in the area.

Will need more of those soon.

63 units on 3/4 acres
84 units per acre, nearly 6x what the MBTA communities law requires in the suburbs.
About 50,000 units per square mile, which helps, too.
Heck Yeah!
More of this please! We so desperately need housing.
Does it also propose free
Does it also propose free vacations on Cape and first class tickets to Switzerland ski trips for its leaders?
Right across the street...
...from where I always intended to build my Geodesic Dome Home if I ever get a few million on scratch tickets. The corner of Sunderland Street and Warren Street has stood vacant my entire life and I've never seen it used for anything: Not even a cookout!
I'm not sure who owns the lot though; Maybe the owner of 3 Sunderland Street?
