Enough with the phone spam, Pagliuca!

I have received mid-day unsoliticed political calls (using minutes on my cell phone no less) for Steve Pagliuca on Thursday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday now too. I'm almost positive I recieved one or two prior to Thursday as well but I can't find those as readily in my cell phone's call log.

Enough is enough. Not only is it flat out annoying to receive these calls while I'm at work, but on top of that, they're coming from seemingly random 3-digit "phone numbers" on my caller ID so it's impossible to identify the caller. Then, the other day, one of them came from a DC number.

Am I the only one who is finding this to just be overkill and completely annoying? Is it illegal for a political campaign call to intentionally misidentify their caller ID information?

We got two while setting up our new phones ... and two more on the answering system when we got home from dinner.

... unlike most of the political phone spam I've received over the years, I though it was a nice touch to receive one that included "stay on the line to join a town hall meeting already in progress" - where Pagliuca was responding to questions from people on the line. I actually learned something about the guy from listening to a few minutes of the interactions.

Yeah, that tele town hall last night was amusing... but I'm tired of the robo calls seemingly every day coming from 3-digit numbers like 312.

Evidently this is starting to strike a chord among the blogosphere.

Here's something Adam just RT'd on Twitter from Kate Hutchinson: What Robocalling Means for Your Business.

In other news, I think I've got the hots for Kate Hutchinson.

I took this one step further... after realizing that he is calling me at home, but I can't call him at his contact # on the website, I did some searching. I couldn't get his home number, but I did get his office number and so I called and left him a message there. I plan on calling him again on Friday. And Monday. And maybe Tuesday.

He's been doing those for a while, and I listened in on one a few weeks ago.

He did at least one of them during his mayoral run.

In the latest call from Capuano, he apologized for the robo-call. I'm sick of the calls too, but that made me smile.

I have been getting calls constantly from this guy. He could promise to cure cancer at this point and I wouldn't vote for him...

It only took one of the calls for me to to get annoyed at him. I don't think it had the effect that they are looking for. My reaction was "Who is running against this jerk who thinks this harassment is a good idea?" and then "Oh yea, I think I will take a closer look at her".

I have a new rule; I will not vote for anyone who robo-calls me. So far so good.

Just this afternoon I happened to be at my parents' house when this particular odious call came across their answering maching. I commented that I was surprised I hadn't gotten one. Guess what was waiting for me when I got home.

I understand that elections often come down to name-recognition. Revenue for airlines are currently thought to come down to bag-fees too. Guess what happens when people get fed up with both? (Err, Southwest for President?)

But at this point with countless calls on the answering machine even if he were my favorite of them all I would not vote for the guy due to his harassment by phone!
