Citizen complaint of the day: Mitt Romney's giant shredder truck
By adamg on Mon, 01/23/2012 - 4:49pm
Looks like Mitt Romney's campaign has found a new way to keep little kids out of the parking lot of his North End campaign headquarters. A disgusted citizen reports:
Mitt Romney's giant Shredder Truck illegally parked outside his office on Commercial Street. This giant shredder truck often parked in tow zone in front of Romney National HQ, yet never towed or ticketed. Maybe he's shredding the parking tickets too?
H/t to the one person who scans Citizens Connect even more obsessively than I do!

you missed this "you park like an asshole" trifecta of fail
https://mayors24.cityofboston.gov:4443/reports/4f1...
"Blocking a crosswalk? Pedestrian. Blocking a crosswalk with a police cruiser? Sloth. Blocking a crosswalk, with a cruiser, with plenty of parking space? Entitlement. Blocking a crosswalk, with a cruiser, with plenty of parking space, where a boston police cruiser struck a baby carriage in the crosswalk? COMMBOOOO WIINNNN!"
Heh, the captcha for this was "Ended ashoLon"
That Mitt Rommey - he's such
That Mitt Rommey - he's such a meanie! I'm tellin' my Mommy!
Douche
was the word you were looking for.
soshulisss!!!!!!!!!!!
what a socialist, using public roadway space for his own private gain!
So this is how Mitt was preparing to release his taxes
Seriously, how tone-deaf, out of touch and arrogant does Romney have to be to park a giant shredder truck in front of his office on the day before he releases one measly tax return, after weeks of speculation over what he's hiding? How dare anyone doubt him! He can do whatever he wants. The peasants are just jealous!
Really?
Do you honestly believe that the midst of a presidential campaign a staffer came to Romney and said "Mitt, we have a problem, the shredding truck won't fit in the parking lot at the North End office, what should we do?"....and Mitt responds "Park it in the street! I'm Mitt Romney, I can do what I want!".
I'm guessing a call to the HQ would have remedied this situation, but people these days are so quick to complain...and others (including some on this board) make such ridiculously sweeping generalizations that it makes rational discussion impossible.
As my Sicilian grandmother said...
The fish stinks from the head down.
Who hired the person, who hired the person who didn't think that it was a problem to leave a gigantic shredder truck illegally parked in front of a presidential candidate's national HQ the day before he releases a tiny fraction of his tax returns after weeks of speculation about what he's been hiding and why he can't see that acting entitled is costing him votes?
When Mitt Romney says he enjoys firing people, people envy him because he's rich or talks about self-deportation, are these random off-the-cuff slip ups? Clearly not, because he says them again the next day. There is a tone deaf, entitled, ridiculously out-of-touch tenor to the whole campaign and they belligerently defend it!
Mitt Romney didn't have a Sicilian grandmother (they keep very careful records about that sort of thing), but he could sure learn a thing or two from mine!
I'm not even going to vote for Romney
But really, "what he was hiding"? He was "hiding" the fact that he donated 17% of his income to charity. That he paid what was required of him in taxes. That he made a ridiculous amount of money off his investments.
As far as what he said about firing people...I agree with him and I'm sure most people do. I enjoy firing people who do not provide me with the services I need. If I have a bad dry cleaner, I fire them. If I have a bad butcher, I fire him. What Romney was talking about was having the option of "firing" your health care provider (or insurance company, I don't feel like looking it up).
Now, the truck. What is the remedy here? Should the Romney campaign FIRE the company they hired to shred? What if the 99% who drove the truck took it upon himself to leave the truck in the street instead of getting out and moving the cones that block the parking lot?
"charity"
I just don't count the Mormon church as a "charity" in Romney's case. It seems like the Latter Day Saints do a lot of good work around the world, but when a religous message is being forced with it, I think the charity term needs to be questioned.
Thoroughly enjoy UHub attacks on Romney
Wasn't the first attack on Romney's parking issues from a "tennis program" that was linked to far-left perennial candidate Alan Kharzai, whose City Year was exposed by the Boston Globe (of all papers) for forcing child volunteers to campaign for alternative lifestyles Sen. Cheryl Jacques (D-Needham)? Not a huge Romney fan but will take a parking ticket before any of the other stuff, any day.
We've had this discussion before
It wasn't Khazei or anybody in his politburo who leaked the story. It was a parent pissed off he or she had to drops a kid off in the street.
And by "tennis," I assume you mean tennis. Yes, there really were kids hitting tennis balls at the "park" that sits "next" to Romney's "headquarters" in what the far-left refer to as "the North End."
Two Questions
1) Do you like your pension
2) Do you really think that your years of loyal teablather will save your pension when the likes of Romney and his corporate buddies decide that public sector pensions are just soooooo 20th century? (remember: the Koch brothers don't give a crap about the laws of the country when they have people like Scott Walker and Mitt Romney do their bidding)
Actually Romney was very fair with MA pensions and
public employee benefits. He cut a lot of BS stuff for police like BS degrees from BS college programs, and grants that weren't accountable. Other Republicans and Patrick did much more damage to the public employee sector.
