That's kind of like a Lakers uniform with shamrocks! Or, maybe, a pinstriped Sox uniform.

Why is it that this is the only holiday where people where stupid attire (green wigs, glasses, Abe Lincoln hats, vests, tattoos etc.)drink and act like complete morons?
I'm from Ireland and I can tell you I don't do this.

... gave the second and third generation descendants (early 1900s) incentive to have their own holidays and their own social and political organizations. This gave incentive to the general population to join in the fun parties, and atrocities like Green Beer were born.

I'm married to a descendant of these not-entirely-willing immigrants; we have shamrocks hanging from our ceiling. That nasty beer, however, will not come to our house.

Lighten up, Ronan. Loosen those ass muscles.

And no, I'm not a fifth generation American pretending to be Irish. My grand parents told me all about how St. Patrick's in Ireland was a primarily religious holiday. An ancient great grand aunt, 101 years old, even told me green was considered bad luck, and they had something called St. Patrick's blue.

The Irish who immigrated to America, Canada, South America, Australia, New Zealand helped put Ireland on the map, and have made the Irish known throughout the world. Let them have their ethnic celebration. Every other ethnic group has theirs, why not the Irish? Or the English? Or the Germans, etc.,?

I get tired of the 'real' Irish looking down their nose at Americans of Irish descent. If it bothers you, and if they bother you, feel free to move back to old country.

There's also do this to Cinco de Mayo, which most of these sad drunk bastards think is Mexican Independence Day and somehow a drinking holiday (it is neither).

I wonder if he meant to do V for Victory or did he really mean to flash the photographer the 2 fingers (which in Ireland is like giving someone "the finger"). ;)
