Updated with information from Transit Police.
Transit Police report a man pulled out from under a southbound Orange Line train at Haymarket this evening has died.
The man was conscious and talking to firefighters as they extricated him around 6:15 p.m. about 35 minutes after he was hit by the train. The man, white and apparently in his 40s, was rushed to Mass. General, where he died about 8:30 p.m.
Transit Police say foul play is not suspected.
Power was shut in both directions to let firefighters get him out. The Green Line quickly overloaded with Orange Line passengers using it as an alternative between Back Bay and North Station.

Civilized people show some respect the dead. We don't, for instance, desecrate their bodies. If you heard about a med student or a mortuary worker who did something grotesque with a dead body, what would you think of that person? Would you think it didn't matter, since the dead person couldn't feel it and didn't even know it was happening?
Pretty sure

The poor soul hadn't passed when he wrote that.
Someone injured would be fair game, perhaps, depending of the severity of the injury. Honestly, I was holding off in case the worse case presented itself, which it did.
Of course, as all us registered users know, posts can be edited, so the mixologist still has a chance to redeem himself.

"Expect delays" is an understatement. Dtx is a madhouse; we're being told to take green line to Copley and walk to Back Bay.

D line around 5:30ish onwards, outbound, was particularly bad. I was ready to commit suicide myself after getting off at Reservoir Cleveland Circle.

I don't think that particular answer was "glib", just asking if that incident was the reason why the Green Line was also delayed.
It's the "I was ready to commit suicide myself" line...

Outside of the person being hurt, which is terrible...
Boy I am glad I know the MBTA bus network well. I left work (DTX) early to head to the Ghetto Meadow Mall in Medford for the Party Store (need more costume stuff). I saw some stuff on Facebook about this on the bus (134) on coming back and immediately looked at bus gps thing (which crashed briefly during this) to see which buses I could take from Wellington and avoid the Orange Line all together.
Two buses, ~30 minutes, and I was home. It could have been one bus but the 112's route just sucks and its faster to switch to an inbound 111 at Revere Beach Parkway @ Washington Ave than stay on the 112 thru Market Basket and Admiral's Hill.
