The Globe reports New England Baptist has started planning to decamp from its longtime perch atop Mission Hill, as a cheaper option to fixing up all the old buildings there - in part because of all the money it'd make by selling the land.

I don't think this will turn into another repeat of the Home of the Good Shepard. The land is too valuable close to downtown to be turned into public housing.
Some other hospital will buy the land to create swing space. It is too difficult to keep building in the LMA without having to shuffle operations from one building to the next. There isn't enough vacant land or empty space in existing hospital buildings to fit programs for new construction periods.
Just wait...

It could also be a college or satellite campus of one in the burbs. There's a hodgepodge of "affordable" housing groups that will mobilize to prevent what they don't want. This will get interesting quickly.
