bedlam
I used to work at the Pru, in one of the shops, and Anime Boston was absolute mayhem. Five years ago, at least, it was waves and waves of pasty teenagers, high on Mountain Dew and Pocky, wearing costumes that must have taken a lot of work to make and wear, but that nevertheless made me yearn for Monday. Good for them for getting out of the house, though, I guess.
I agree, it's so revolting
I agree, it's so revolting when people don't have exactly your interests and tastes. As a retail cashier you were clearly destined to be the ultimate arbiter of class and snobbery.
Protip: the 'pasty nerd' stereotype has been obsolete for about, oh, 12 years now? I don't even like anime but this NEEEERRRRRDDDDSSS mouth-froth has gone beyond tiresome.
calm down.
I was referring to what I directly observed five years ago. I assume things have changed since then - but it still looks like bedlam, and not my cup of tea. No one said it was "revolting", except you. I did say that it was overwhelming to have to work there when they were in town. Once more, with feeling: calm yo' tits.
Glad Anime is this big
I am not into it but everyone involved seems to have a great time and there isn't a bunch of arrests or people acting like dbags....you know, like you get when the Bruins/Celtics/Sox/Pats have a home game.
My thoughts exactly.

Adorable!
Aha. I saw the pope and some
Aha. I saw the pope and some alien minions on the T yesterday --all is made clear to me now!
Personally not interested in
Personally not interested in anime, but the world could always use more color, fun, and joie de vivre. Love it!
I never got into geek stuff
But there are some nice looking chicks that are into this stuff. Boy, I missed the boat.
