Signal problems at Park Street are causing "moderate" delays in both directions on the Red Line this afternoon. Or as MikeAtlas, at Downtown Crossing, tags it:
We need help fast. I actually start to worry a lot lately about taking an Orange Line and Red Line on a daily basis. Seems more and more technical and mechanical problems and delays everyday. Winter.
Call Mayor Marty and your neighborhod liaison and tell them you've had enough and that they need to pressure the governor to fix this goddamn friggin' bullshit. I've been taking the Red Line for 50 years and this is a total cluster fuck. If we don't all take action and speak up and demand improvements, we will be totally fucked this winter once again. Urban workers should contact your HR and MGT departments and tell them to get off off their asses and call City Hall. This chronic bullshit affects productivity and ultimately the local econony. Call your representatives and tell them that and let then know you'll hold them responsible at the pols.
Ok. Fine. Do that, too. But really - put Marty on the line and make him work for the votes we gave him. It's his (and greater Bostonian's) economy that's most affected by the T debacle. A call from the mayor of Boston is more likely to garner attention than a call from some no name, unheard of rep.
You must be Marty's bud - which I was (born and raised Dot Rat) until he started screwing us.
And Baker can proceed to rake in votes from the suburbs.
Much like yourself, I've known Walsh from the St. Margaret's days, but the T is not within his control. Heck, he had more of a say as a state rep. If you are looking for a mayor who can move on this, visit Mayor Hynes' grave.
should declare some kind of a state of emergency. I'm not kidding. The situation with the MBTA is absolutely dire. Disturbing things have been allowed to deteriorate to the current awful level.

Is it just me...
Or is the red line having more than its fair share of issues lately? Makes me nervous for winter service!

Red and Orange have the oldest, most decrepit train cars.

Given that the T is a state authority ...
You might do better to call your state legislators.

Adam,

The governor

This isn't emergent
This is per his design. Declaring an emergency is the point of it, so he can union bust and do other "reforms" that his Kochperate masters decree.
I understand what you're saying
but the system has, imo, reached the breaking point. Something fairly drastic needs to be done. It is what it is.
When can we start blaming
When can we start blaming Baker?
