Based on the info provided thus far, it's hard to tell if this was a vicious dog who attacked someone and got shot or if some jerk shot a dog because he could.

Can't forget the scenario where the owner doesn't have enough money to take his sick dog to the vet to euthanize it. However probably an illegal gun as that is not a responsible use of a weapon.

My parents are not needing of your sympathy. They were supportive of my decision to teach in BPS, as well my decision to enroll in law school. My question reflects an attitude of dissatisfaction that is actually shared by many people I know, including a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.
