True, and I have this internal argument often. While the water is not precious here, the electricity to clean it on both ends is. So I still try to conserve.

For most MWRA water districts, it costs about a penny a gallon all-in.
Not precious if you're talking about a drink of water. But a garden hose is 6 gallons a minute. That's $86 a day. $31 grand a year. It's real money.
