Can people stop driving their drones over parks and beaches? I know its fun to have another experience you can mediate through your phone, but for a lot of us spending time outdoors is about relaxing, not hearing the whirr of your toy. Dont encourage these attention seekers. This is like posting videos of the obnoxious people who spend the whole concert with their phones above their heads (blocking the people behind them).

It's illegal to fly a drone over the public.
It's also well within Logan controlled airspace and I doubt they had clearance.

The FAA introduced "Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability" this year. It's now possible to use an App called Kittyhawk on your mobile phone to obtain near instant clearance to fly in restricted airspace.
I recently tried this out in Quincy and was given approval to fly in a few seconds. Of course, you must keep the drone under 400 feet and within the area you agreed to fly.
But, the FAA has now made it easier to "do the right thing".
Also, the video doesn't indicate they were flying over groups of people.
In the end, it's up to the drone pilot to assure safety. But don't presume they were in the wrong here.

But for a lot of us spending time outdoors is about running and exercising, not hearing the whirr of a toy, not hearing dogs barking, kids screaming and playing, not relaxing in a public place either. Dont encourage these people from giving you attitude when you try to politely excuse and squeeze your way pass people that walk side by side and never yield for others.

It's a ton of fun for the drone pilot and annoying as anything for everyone else.
There's something about a drone noise is far worse than any of the normal city sounds.
They vary in noise.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Harvard owns the air rights (no-fly zone) and image rights (distribution of pictures, descriptions, etc...) for the Arboretum.

I've been in Texas the last two months, and this video, enhanced or not, is like a tonic to the spirit. The oven-like summer here finally yielded in late October to what passes for autumn, and I've been missing New England. Yes, drones, especially audible ones, can be annoying as well as an invasion of privacy, but is there any way such images could be made available to the public? Aerial views of beautiful places would be very popular. This was like a dream I've had of flight. I wish there were one for Forest Hills and Mount Auburn cemeteries, among so many other places in Greater Boston and beyond.

Marvelous imagery -- [until you get to the interval between 2:00 - 2:30 when the downtown skyline is in view] -- could have been in southern Vermont or New Hampshire countryside
This and the recent pix of the Duck Pond and Bridge in the Public Garden [a la Giverny] -- we live in a "great invention" [circa late 19th C] -- the Boston Parks that looks so natural

On Monday for the first time this year. There's a small wooden footbridge over a creek near where you enter at Bussey by the Jewish home. It was chilly, but the rain had stopped, and I saw my breath. For a moment, I had escaped.
