After trolley dies, young inebriates run from Government Center to Park Street - on Green Line tracks

A Riverside Line trolley had some pantograph performance issues in the tunnel between Haymarket and Government Center shortly before midnight. Not long after, Transit Police reported numerous drunk young men running on the tracks from Government Center to Park after one train was evacuated to Government Center. Before the dead train was emptied, Charles reported:

A bunch of fellas are yelling at each other and I think they’re about to do the Good Will Hunting bar scene.

It seems like every day we get different reports about unruly and violent behavior on the MBTA. The Transit police do a lot of reporting but very little in the way of preventing problems.

I would never run through the tunnels, drunk or sober, if not allowed. But my dream has always been to walk though all the MBTA tunnels. I always sit at the front of the trains as a passenger and hope to get a red line car where they haven’t blocked the window so at least I can get a driver’s view.

So every time I read about a train being evacuated mid tunnel I’m envious I wasn’t on that train.

Years ago, I was on a Red Line train that conked out between stations and I thought I’d have my chance to walk through a tunnel. But, no, the train was pushed into the next station by another train.

my freshman roommate and i ran from the Northeastern stop to Government ctr and back underground on E line. We had some beers prior to but were runners so it was great fun and memories. We just ran into one T employee at Pk St but he was cheering us on.

Trust me. It’s gross in there. Walked thousands of miles under these streets. Nothing but rat shit, roaches and track dust.

I used to do a bit of urban exploration. Amazing what’s beneath our fine city.

Between the hooligans taking over the PA system or drunk hooligans running down tunnels the T should start charging people for the show not just the ride.

ruined Boston.

I love Goodwill hunting. Especially at the one on Centre St. in J.P. Digging through the used books, LPs and shirts is the only hunting I will ever do.

The movie. Which by the way I have never seen. Does Matt Damon and/or Robin Williams really go Goodwill hunting?

...ruined sharks too.
