This storm was not messing around
Joan was at Nahant Beach this afternon when the storm showed up and just burst right over her head. She managed to get a couple of good shots "just before we grabbed our stuff and made a mad dash for the car."
Chelsea Scanner watched the storm advance from Chelsea, and watched the lightning streak down in the direction of Everett and Somerville:

So I guess it's not just rainbows you get tagged with...
Guess not
My daughter was out running when lightning hit 20 feet in front of her. She says if she was just a little faster, she'd have been fried.
Whoa!!
Your daughter was sure lucky! Glad she's alive and okay.
She seems fine
Thanks
Yikes
I hope she's ok. That's awful close!
The raindrops seemed
The raindrops seemed incredibly warm for water coming from so far above. It was kind of refreshing actually.
Storm
Mother Nature bids a fond adieu to Bruce Schwoegler.
I got some photos of the approaching storm
from Fort Hill in Roxbury, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

My little corner of Hyde Park
My little corner of Hyde Park has not gotten any rain in any of the thunderstorm. The birds are using the lawn in front of the house, I live in, are using it as sand bath.
Yeah, there's this weird little area ...
Sort of like Stony Brook Reservation and its surrounding streets, where we get all the lightning and thunder and wind but none of the rain. Well almost none, last night we got some on our street, and that storm the other evening, we got a sun shower long after other people were reporting downpours.
