NBC Boston posts video of "chunks of concrete falling from the ceiling near riders at the Downtown Crossing station on Monday." On a Red Line platform, because that's the line where things fall from above, as opposed to the Orange Line, where things catch on fire.

Maybe we should all start
Maybe we should all start wearing hard hats.
Could have been worse.
Imagine if there had a been a bench there, like a normal bench that people sit on.
Sadly not surprising
From the WFXT story:
If it were any organization other than the T, I'd be shocked that they didn't already have someone in charge of ensuring stations were inspected for safety and needed repairs.
They need another one
Gravity Czar - tasked with preventing that pesky gravity from pulling down T property.
Serious understaffing was one of the FTA's findings
The FTA determined that for its size and scope the T is understaffed. So it shouldn't be a surprise that either no one is assigned this task or more likely someone is nominally assigned this task but also assigned many other tasks.
