Man found shot on South Boston beach

A 41-year-old South Boston man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and near death last night on the beach by Day Boulevard and M Street, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. District C-6 reports the man was shot in the face.
The man is in critical condition at Boston Medical Center this morning, the DA's office says, adding State Police homicide detectives are investigating the shooting because the beach is state property.
State troopers and Boston Police officers responded to the location around 11:30 p.m. on reports of gunfire, the DA's office says.

I cannot find any follow up in the news about this. Who was the victim? Were suspects caught? Did the victim survive? Some guy gets his face blown off and this is all we hear? Very curious...

No arrests have been made and an active investigation is ongoing by State Police, who have jurisdiction over crimes on state property within the City of Boston.
