Man shot on Shawmut Avenue in Roxbury; suspect arrested

Boston Police report a man was shot at 724 Shawmut Ave. around 6:25 a.m.

The victim, in his 50s, was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

Around 10:15 a.m., police arrested Ismail Abdurrashid-McCullum, 50, of Roxbury, at 171 Townsend St., on charges of assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
