Charges dropped against man once charged with pulling gun on Fenway store clerk
By adamg on Fri, 10/07/2022 - 11:25am
Update: The Case was scheduled for trial last week but was dismissed after the Suffolk County District Attorney's office declined to prosecute.
Boston Police report arresting Dayne Taylor of Mattapan, whom they say pointed a gun at a clerk at Symphony Market, 291 Huntington Ave., yesterday afternoon after he "became agitated that the smoke shop portion of the store was currently closed."
Innocent, etc.

Well...
"became agitated that the smoke shop portion of the store was currently closed."
Everyone has their breaking point. Maybe the politics of closing the smoke shop looked good, but the clerk could have easily lost a head in a pistol discharge.
During times of stress, keep the damn smokeshops open.
Might avoid some tragedy.
"How did Uncle Bob die? Corona?"
"No, he was killed by a stressed out gunman because the government thought it was a good idea to try to ban what he wanted in a time of stress. Tobacco."
Stop blaming "the times"
If you saw some of the characters that congregate around there you'd see why this happened. Everybody needs to stop blaming the damn virus for crimes happening in these convenience stores in areas frequented by smacked out people.
It's just unavoidable
Might as well give in to the entitled assholes with anger management problems.
heads up folks
acute nicotine withdrawal is a very serious state of mind
No excuse for the gun or the behavior but those withdrawal symptoms a very real problem
Addiction is a serious thing, but...
...gas stations and convenience stores are freaking everywhere. Dude was probably just angry he couldn't buy his favorite brand from the most convenient location.
Personally,
I'm disappointed about Juuls being smoke shop only, because, yes, c-stores are everywhere, but they cant sell Juuls. I'd been off cigarettes for over half a year, bought a supply for the initially announced lockdown period, ran out, back to cigarettes.
No one has ever died....
... from not smoking a cigarette. But many, many people have died from cigarette smoke.
Now when someone’s smoke gets up your nose you wonder what virus got up there along with it.
*YAWN*
Your endless smoking tirades are tiring.

Is there nowhere
Is there nowhere else where he could DRIVE to get some smokes EXACTLY WHEN HE WANTED?
Give me a break. Who threatens a retail clerk with a gun just because the shop doesn’t have what he wants to buy or can’t wait when the shop is selling?
A dangerous psychopath, that’s who.
Now shutting off alcohol sales can lead to death from withdrawal.
That reminds me, I’m out of beer.
Too bad, but personally I’m not going to suffer withdrawal symptoms greater than crankiness so I can wait.
But he didn’t die. Your
But he didn’t die. Your imaginary scenario has not happened. Now this punk has been locked up thanks in part to them not being able to buy cigarettes. It’s a happy ending.
um actually no
he wasn’t locked up
the DA declined to press charges
thereby further enabling such behaviors
The Commonwealth may have decided that tobacco specialty
shops are non-essential businesses, but that doesn't mean it's hard to get your nic fix somewhere. That neighborhood does not lack for options, especially at 2pm. I don't recall if Huntington Wine & Spirits carries tobacco products, but it's right next door.
Let's pick this apart
1) I don't feel like copying and pasting it, but I'm sure you all know the final verse of Skynyrd's "Saturday Night Special" by now, so, yeah, that's how I feel about the perp, especially since he was dumb enough to drive away in his own vehicle.
1A) What anger from Dayne Taylor. Hopefully love will lead him back. He was born like six years before her first hit, so you can't blame Mom and Dad on that one.
2) The state also sucks for restricting commerce.
3) Fun Will LaTulippe fact: First time I got laid was in the building across the street.
Post of the year?
You have my vote Will.
Awww
Now I see why they call you nice.
In Jordan Hall?
Was it during a performance of Ravel's Bolero?
Only a FOOL will believe this
When my account is approved, I'll be responding to everyone. You people do understand there is a video of this rite? It will show Mr Taylor purchasing an item out of the smoke shop which is open, I don't know why this article is saying there closed and that's what's this is about. It was not about that at all. Yall believe anything. To bad there is a cd of the situation and thats why I'm typing this now. Free,, hours later. No gun at all,, yall really believe anything without posting dout. Those clerks are on video being aggressive (4 of them, not 1)and they used the N word several times,, 1 being restrained from wanting to attack Mr Taylor, etc There is a VIDEO. Did I point a gun or STICK my middle finger up at them and then tha tuff guys in tha store in return call the police and waste yall tax money on a bogus call
I have to admit I took the reporting at face value here, but
if your account of the incident is true, that is truly awful. What are the chances that this video will be made public?
I look forward to
I look forward to your proof of those assertions
I totally believe you could’ve happened in the way you describe, but I’d like to see it
please post where you got access to the videos of the rest of us can go view it
thank you
um hmmmm
i thought so
I agree that it's awful that the state
has to restrict commerce. I've got relatives and friends who can't work, including one with a baby on the way, to say nothing of a few tens of thousands of people I love and admire in the restaurant and bar business, and many other small businesses I support, that are deeply hurting right now and face an uncertain future. I'm afraid for my friends who work in healthcare, too.
I'm privileged, fortunate, grateful to still be working at the moment, not dependent on food writing to pay my rent and grocery bills and health insurance. But my livelihood is at risk, too. Still, I think it's the right thing to do at this moment, and I don't think the fault lies with our local leaders.
Tell it to my heart, tell me I'm the only one...
At least the bad guy's parents had good taste in music...
This is a real wayback playback
The story was first posted in 2020 (check the comment dates) -- didn't expect to see it get bumped back up to the main page!
It’s the update
I’m assuming the accused requested the update, since this will come up in a Google search of his name.
Perhaps
But that would only explain the update to the body of the post, not why it got pushed up to the front page again.
(And now it's back off of the front page, so perhaps that part was just a mistake.)
