Man who was arrested after high-speed chase through South Boston now charged with Roxbury shooting as well

Boston Police report charging Christopher Meade, 30, of Malden, for a shooting on Clifford Street in Roxbury that sent a man to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds around 3:50 a.m. on Dec. 4.

Meade was already in custody for his role in a Dec. 11 chase by State Police up Day Boulevard and down East 1st Street in South Boston that left a parked BPD cruiser hit and Meade vainly trying to flee on foot on West 1st Street, police say.

Police say the Dec. 4 victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Meade was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building for the shooting, police say.
