Boston Police report they are looking for a chain robber who displayed a gun to force one of women to give up a chain she was wearing on Dudley Street at Clarence Street in Roxbury around 8:20 p.m. on Sunday.

The suspect's description sounds similar to the man sought for a string of chain robberies from Mattapan to West Roxbury: A thin Hispanic man about 5'6" in a dark hoodie. However, that suspect ripped the chains off his victims' necks, rather than displaying a gun.

Police say that the Roxbury robber made off with a gold chain with "Portuguese prayer hands" and blue pearls on it.

I'm going to file it under unserious crime.

Looks like the same guy who has been doing the same crime in Hyde Park, Mattapan, Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury. I wonder why he skipped Dorchester?
