In queso emergency: Cheese co-op for Roslindale?

With the news that Boston Cheese Cellar on Birch Street is closing at the end of the month, Adam Kessel has started thinking about a whey to ensure Roslindale continues to have a gouda supply of cheesy comestibles.

Kessel, who already knows something about co-ops, is hoping to have a get-together this weekend to talk about the idea of a co-op taking over from the cheese shop. If interested, drop a line to [email protected].

I just really appreciate the headline. And the idea of good cheese. I stopped by Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge last week to see what the fuss was about and I floored--at the price of the cheese, but also by its quality and the sheer enthusiasm of the guy behind the counter. He loved what he did and sure knew his product.

well, the creme de la creme. It's pricey but boy, they run a good shop--both of them. Knowledge, enthusiasm--passion, really. We're really lucky to have them.
